| | soapgate Q! ( QKom GmbH ) SoapGateQ! - Extending the reach of Lotus Notes Domino
In our ever more heterogenous IT world where companies run different software and database platforms for their operational needs it is extremely important to have standardised access APIs that go beyond what is provided by the pure capability of being able to create RESTful or web services. As developer the ideal situation is to get a tool at hand that allows a native data access to other platforms then the one developing in.
SoapGateQ! for Domino is all about this. As the name indicates, it is a web service based data access API providing (at current development stage) probably about 60-70% of the most important features of Lotus Notes Domino. It includes functions such as...
* dbColumn
* dbColumnX (providing for the return of multiple columns)
* dbLookup
* dbLookupX (same as for dbColumnX)
* dbSearch
* dbFTSearch
* dbReadDocFields (loading document content)
* dbSaveDocFields (creating and saving document content)
* ...and many more...
SoapGateQ! is a standalone Notes database containing a number of web services to access basically any Notes database located on any server within the domain. The web services are accessed as web users and hence with the respective rights to the individual databases access is requested for. Wether as anonymous or authenticated user. So the Domino security model is completely adhered to. Additional web service operations to read the effective user rights and user roles will allow a developer of a different platform to incorporate these Domino security features as well.
